Exploring abstract texture art

Feeling stuck and unsure of where to start on your creative journey? Want to enhance your artistic abilities and explore new ways to paint and express yourself?

Aaron Auguste's unique abstract art courses are the perfect opportunity for you! With his extensive experience as an artist, Aaron has worked with a variety of mediums and techniques, including oils, acrylics, texture pastes, collage, mark-making, impasto, and acrylic pouring. Drawing on this broad knowledge, he’ll guide you as you explore and develop your artistic potential. You'll have the freedom to experiment with different methods and unlock your full creative abilities.

The four 2-hour sessions will be held at the Liberation Art Gallery, situated on Meeting House Lane in Brighton's lively South Lanes. The gallery offers a bright, spacious room upstairs, featuring incredible artwork from the gallery’s talented artists. In the centre of the room is a large table, giving you plenty of space to express yourself and collaborate with a community of like-minded individuals.

In this workshop, we’ll focus on creating textured artwork. We’ll begin by exploring how texture can add depth and emotion to your piece. You’ll learn to use texture pastes and materials you can easily find around your home and garden. Aaron will demonstrate fun techniques to help you loosen up and spark your creativity, including using a turning wheel to spin and shape your composition.

Once the piece is dry, we’ll dive into adding colour, experimenting with different painting techniques to achieve a range of effects and finishes.

After the four weeks you will have an amazing & unique piece of art which you can take home to show your friends and family and perhaps display in your home.

This 4-week course includes 2-hour sessions, with days and times to be confirmed. We need at least 5 participants to run the workshop, so secure your spot today and feel free to invite a friend to join in the creative fun!
